Happy Boxing Day!

So, Christmas was last night and I bet all you people out there must have had fun!

The man and woman of God had the most wondrous and fantastic time together! First was service in Singapore Expo which started at 1145. In the 2 services the previous day, the church had to turn away thousands of people due to the overflowing of people coming and this service was at usual packed with people! Seriously, before reaching the hall I was still afraid that I might not get a seat inside. Thankfully, the cellgroup managed to book a whole row and we got to sit together. The drama was good and HuiJuan was still telling us that afterall the 3 wisemen was not that wise considering the fact that they went to the wrong person for the new born king. hahas! After the service, we made our way down to Somerset and set foot into Cineleisure Cathay's level 9 for our fun. When we reached there, we were still unable to play so we went to XingWang HongKong Cafe to have our dinner. I bet we must be the noisest customers there as we were talking and laughing super loudly about every joke or funny thing spoken.
When there's W401, there's neverending of laughter and happiness. Oh ya, KeeLiang was also with us today. I hope that he do have a great time with us as well. We stayed at the cafe all the way until 1930 when Desmond started to get anxious with the rooms we've booked from 1930 - 2130. In the span of 2 hours, we had the most gaiety time together playing and screaming. We were so happening such that even passer-by stopped to look at us play! After 2 hours of excerise, we procced on to the train station and I thought that we had enough of the fun for the day. However, W401 proved me wrong once again! We passed by this Heinkein(I dont remember how you spell this) and the guys suggested we renacted the scene in the advertisement for the beer. Being the super on kind of people, they went in and followed the advertisement that was played on the TV and screamed! Mind you, we were in ORCHARD! Everyone was looking but we cared about nothing other than having fun and laugh and laugh and laugh! After the guys came out, we girls were also dragged into the wardrobe kind of room to scream as well. At first, none of us wanted to do so but still relented in the end. Like the guys, we followed the advertisement and screamed loudly till the people outside can hear us. The whole experience was new and never done by my friends before! I was suddenly so proud of myself to be able to have such a good lot of friends/brothers/sisters to do such a crazy thing with me. That ended the fun of the day and W401 is still the best after all. Anyways once again, Happy Boxing Day!

God loves Israel

I say then, has God cast away His people? Certainly not! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. Romans 11:1

At 20,720 square kilometers, Israel is a tiny nation the size of the state of Johor in West Malaysia. Although it is a small country, it is huge in influence. The entire Old Testament is essentially a history of Israel. Almost the entire content of the four Gospels took place within the borders of Israel. More than 90 percent of the people portrayed in the Bible are Israelites. All 39 New Testament books were authored by Israelites. By being born a Jew, Jesus Christ is forever identified to the Jewish race. All 12 disciples were Jewish. Apostle Paul was Jewish. All except one of Paul’s co-workers were Jewish. Revelation 21 says that when we get to the New Jerusalem, even the gates of this heavenly city have the names of the 12 tribes of Israel inscribed on them.

However, because the Jews (1) have been separated from their land for almost 2,000 years, and (2) have been separated from their role as leaders in disseminating the gospel and building up the Church, many Christians today no longer associate the New Testament with the Jews. In fact, many ignorant Christians have even embraced “Replacement Theology,” which is the belief that the Church has replaced Israel in God’s plan of salvation. It is the belief that Israel is no longer God’s chosen people, because the Church now is. It teaches that God is no longer with Israel because they had rejected Christ as their Messiah.

To refute all that, Paul asks the rhetorical question: “Has God cast away His people- the Jews?” To that, he answered an emphatic “Certainly not! God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew” (Rom. 11:1-2). When God makes a covenant, it is everlasting. God can never forget His promises, His plans or His people. He will never forget His land, not forsake His city (Ps. 132:13-14). The children of Israel are God’s chosen people forever! Israel is God’s “prophetic clock.” By restoring the Jews to the land in 1948, God set the clock in motion once again. In Romans 11:15, Paul further reasons, “For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?”

Paul is effectively saying that if the silence of the Jews during the 2,000-year diaspora has already sparked so much evangelism, can you imagine what would happen when they are fi nally reconciled to Jesus? It would be a revival-”life from the dead”-of global proportions! Start praying for Israel, supporting the Jews, and reaching out to them with the love of Jesus Christ like never before.

Greater Works

Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. John 14:12

The promise that Jesus made regarding prayer in John 14:12-14 is almost breathtaking. Preparing to place His ministry in the hands of His disciples, He said to them in the upper room (and to all of us today), “He who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do.” When Jesus was on the earth, everything He did, He did it through His earthly body. Now Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father. Everything He does now, He does through His spiritual body—the Church of the living God. And Jesus says that we, His Church, will do greater works!
The works of Jesus refer to His miracles, healings, signs and mighty acts of power. His works included healing every kind of disease, casting out demons and raising the dead. He controlled the wind and the waves, walked on water, multiplied food, and turned water into wine. The promise here is that every believer can receive the Holy Spirit and be endued with power from on high so that he potentially can do all the works of Christ. But more than that, we are supposed to exceed Him. How?
The “greater works” are works greater in quantity and further in global reach. Jesus had scores of converts; the apostles numbered in the thousands. Jesus ministered only to the Jews in Palestine. Peter opened the door for Gentiles to be saved at Cornelius’ house. Paul and the early Christians soon took the gospel to reach the known world.
When Jesus preached, His biggest crowd at any one time may have been 5,000 to 20,000 people. But at his Millennium Crusade in Lagos, Nigeria, German evangelist Reinhard Bonnke had 1,600,000 people attending a single gospel service. That night, 1,093,000 lost souls responded to the altar call. At the end of the six-day event, a total of 3,450,000 people had registered decisions for Jesus! In his 30 years of faithful ministry, Evangelist Bonnke has given out 68 million copies of follow-up booklets to help new converts who got saved in his meetings.
Today, with television, radio, satellite broadcasting, the Internet, and printed media, hundreds of millions of people can hear the gospel all at the same time. We must harness all the power of God and the technology available in the world to win the masses for Christ. We must put our faith in Jesus’ words. Our Savior would never lie to us. This is truly the day of the harvest! We are the people of the greater works!

Seven “I Am” Sayings

I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. John 10:11

Unique to the Gospel of John, there are seven “I am” pronouncements Jesus made to describe who He really is as our Savior. Here is the list:

(1) I am the bread of life (John 6:35). This is the first of the seven “I am” sayings of Jesus. There is an unmistakable parallel to God’s covenant name-Yahweh-by which He revealed Himself to Moses in Exodus 3:14, “I AM WHO I AM.” Jesus made the pronouncement “I am the bread of life” three times (6:35, 48, 51). He is the real heavenly bread, the true life sustaining power. Anything else is an inadequate substitute.

(2) I am the light of the world (8:12). The world is in darkness apart from Christ. And as a follower of Jesus reflecting the light that comes from Him, you too are “the light to the world.”

(3) I am the gate for the sheep (10:7-9). The imagery contrasts Jesus’ protection of the sheep in the fold with all other false prophets past and present. Entering the sheepfold through Jesus is a saving action and provides the sheep with abundant life and provision.

(4) I am the good shepherd (10:11-14). The good shepherd is genuinely concerned for his sheep. He gives His life for His sheep. But to a hireling, his only interest is self-preservation.

(5) I am the resurrection and the life (11:25). More than giving resurrection and life, Jesus is the resurrection and the life. Final death is impossible with Him. Death will never triumph over those who believe in Him.

(6) I am the way and the truth and the life (14:6). Jesus is not one way among many, He is the only way to the Father. He is the truth about God and the very life of God. As such, He reveals truth to you and gives life to you.

(7) I am the true vine (15:1, 5). This seventh “I am” is the last self-designation in John’s Gospel. It describes the relationship between Jesus and His disciples. When you abide in Christ—the true vine—your prayers will be effective (15:7); you will glorify God in your fruit bearing (15:8); you will demonstrate your discipleship (15:8-10); and your joy becomes full through experiencing Christ’s own joy within you (15:11). Invite Jesus to become the “I am” of your life, your every moment, as He fills you with His presence.

hey peeps! I'm back! Today is April's Fool, did anyone got fooled today??

Anyways, the 1 week prayer meeting have started. I believe many of you have attended at least one so far or will be attending one. For me, I attended this 2 days' and I really felt the presence of God.

Yesterday's prayer meeting was good. After the meeting, I met my dad. It's rare for me to meet up my dad and be able to actually chat with him for more than 5 minutes. I actually hooked my dad's arm after that when I was leaving with him. That was really a long time since I hooked his hand. To me, I really improved a lot.

Today's prayer meeting was really great. I found back the very first touched feeling when I first attended church and it came to my remembrance about why I came to church.

While praying, I could literally visualise myself complaining to God and he kept all my complains one by one and comforted me. I really felt love and warmth. Just like the first time I attended church.

This two days of praying is really much of a feast for me. Much of a spiritual feast.

Also to add on, today I just checked my Chemistry results for my term and it's an A2! Praise the Lord! From now on, I want to continue on and strive for an A1!

Lastly, do pray for the cellgroup for a breakthrough this coming Easter! Also pray for ShangZheng as he had been sick for a few days and it is getting worse.

heyy! felfel is here again! thanks for constantly praying for me! today's sermon was really really great! Pst Kong really brought back all the past verses ii read . like, By his stripes, I am healed.
etc. its was such a pity that i had all my notes on that piece of paper which i put into the offering envelop.. but never mind. i still learn a lot today !
A PLACE OF AGREEMENT IS A PLACE OF POWER

backk to blog bout recent happenings yeah..
first and foremost ..
ii hav been impacted by the meeting on monday.
its about the pesronal touch we have in each others lives..
like what Pastor Kong says, Singapore is a rushing world ..
everyone is always rushing here and there, doing their own things etc..
and gradually they stop touching each others lives and eventually drift off from each other..
theres actually a lot of things we can do to the others and also to the cellgroups ..
its really about whether we want it or not and whether we make the effort or not..
like a lot of things went thru my mind ..
and ii really hope to be able to help much more in many different areas without much limitations..

Multiplication

Just had our mooncake festival celebration todae! it was reli a great time of bonding!

today, the reality of multiplication hit me. When we were forming the circle to play games, the circle is like BIG!! haven been seeing such a big circle in cg games for a long long time.

recently we have lots of new friends joining us. Dennis brought his SIM friends, Brian brought along Song Sue and Lin Ser, Desmond and Dev brought in the BB boys, and today Angela brought along 3 of her friends!

As a CGL, im reli comforted by the efforts of every single one making the effort everytime when we come tgt. For those who are more evangelistic, i see the work u guys put into sowing into lives. For those who are not so evangelistic, u guys didnt just slack and wait for things to happen. u guys willingly and initiatively take up various position to make sure things run well. i can say that for this mooncake festival celebration, i gave my minimal effort to plan and get involve. this makes me realised, also hope that u guys will realise, that the CGL doesnt make everything happen. IT TAKES EVERYONE!

From the beginning of last 2 mths when i started to release the different sections of the cg to you guys, i began to see the potential in every single one of u. in fact, i believe the cg now can be self-run even without me! For instance,

Marlyn who says she cant lead worship with the presence of God, she DID it.

Jason who used not to serve as much in the cg, volunteered in doing the songsheet, he DID it.

Felicia who came to cg, merely sitting there and yawn at times, now she's leading wonderful games! she DID it.

Angela who thinks that she cant be evangelistic brought 3 friends today. she DID it.

Yimin who used to have a strong attitude has been serving us faithfully with delicious refreshments. she DID it.

Dennis who was once limited in his finances bought us mooncake which costs $50++. he DID it.

and lots and lots to go on....

i was especially comforted today when i got to know that Dennis is treating us mooncake. mind you, not cheap ones, which cost him maybe a day or even 2 days of work. finally i felt that this group of people, whom once i thought they were young, naive and rebellious, has grown up to be responsible adults, knowing how to behave and start to think like one. i realised you guys are no longer sec 1 sec 2 kids which i have to constantly nag at you guys to do a certain thing. self-accountability has taken its roots. (for some of you, stil got to work more on it! =)) all of you are young adults now.

of course having said all these, i do not wish that anyone of u will think that we have reached there. there are more things to do and to conquer. this is just the beginning. and the beginning has proven that everyone of you have the ability to be a person of influence and has the capacity to serve others beyond yourself. lets grow out of the sec sch mentality and needy mindset but start to initiate care, concern and servanthood and think about the people around us 1st before we want them to think about us.

remember, we are young adults now. lets treat one another like one =)

im beginning to smell multiplication. its reli very near. who knows, it might be just next month! continue to be steadfast in whatever you are doing in the cg. just push yourself a lil more before we can celebrate multiplication. it has been a long-waiting 2 years.

fellowship afer prayer meeting

hi,this is my first post. i really enjoyed the prayer meeting.great presence of God.i shall pour out my feelings on my journal.anyway, just want to share that after prayer meeting, yi min, hui ping and i went to blk 815 to eat western food.its a personal joy for me as we did not eat at the coffee shop opposite church.that coffee shop is so noisy and lack ambience.for me i enjoyed solitude and have a great meal with them.Thanks for the two sisters for availing themselves to eat with me.

anws, i feel that ytd praise and worship was really good, not becaus ei was teh one playing the guitar, but because in the morning i really experienced something so down, and i kept on thinking about that negative stuffs, but the praise and worship brought me to life. the smiles that i had in school wasnt that deep down from inside, but during the praise and worship, though my hands are real tired, but i really was smiling away, the joy of the Lord. thank you guys, for praising and worshipping so hard, cos i need that badly.

Just a short post here =) just felt encouraged when i start to see you guys rising up and take on more roles and responsibilities in the cg, which really showed me that you guys have matured! some instances when im touched...

1. When dennis specially met up angela downstairs her place to plan through her study schedule tgt with her and pray and encourage her, which reli did show tremendous improvement on her studies. and how Dennis is willing to sacrifice the long trip from Boon Lay to Expo just to accompany a fellow dear sister Si Rong for churchwide prayer meeting.

2. How Felicia never fail to go to Hui Ching's house to wake her up to go to service together. What a sisterly sacrifice is that! =)

3. How Si Rong has take responsibility over all the new friends over the north side.

4. How Marlyn and Michelle willingly sacrifice to attend multiple cg meetings and Marlyn to attend Sat svc just to get to know the north side people better.

5. How angela is so willing to realigned herself back in God's purpose once again.

6. How excited Hui Ping is to invite her friends to FOP.

And many many more............

If your name is not mentioned here, dont be sad or feel rejected ya.. just that my mind is too slow to think now at 1am. ha! but im touched by your every single action, motivated by the desire to make this cg a better place for everyone else and making your love and fellowship always so readily for the people around you! i believe God sees all these! Have been in CG ministry as a CGL for 2 years, was just reflecting back on my ministry and here are some thoughts which i think i could just share with you guys =)

Being a CGL for 2 years is long enough to observed that God indeed works according to a pattern. apart of the pattern of sowing, waiting and reaping, God also transformed us to be more Christ-like according to a pattern. For me, i observed that everytime when i began to change myself in my personal life, God will start to change my ministry.

The previous time that i remembered when the CG had a remarkable growth, it was also the time when God break me of my own pride and stubborness. i still remembered how broken i was when i was being confronted by God about my own pride and how i was living in my self-deception all these while. I stil remember how God woke me up with Eph 5:14:
“ Awake, you who sleep,
Arise from the dead,
And Christ will give you light.”

i felt that i was given a tight slap by God and how i broke down and cried so badly that night and repented of my pride and stubborness.this verse really served as a wake up call for me that it is really time to wake up from my sleep, from my own world where no one can speak into my life. in another verse it says

"But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light"

it is really there and then that i realised the only way to break my stubborness was to admit it and allow the light of others to come and expose what is dark and corrupted on the inside of me. When i began to be opened to the opinions and discipleship of the people ard me, and of cz to God the Holy Spirit Himself, i began to see a great change in the cg. more new friends joining the grp etc.. i believe it is not just mere coincidence but it is really true that the members cant rise above what the leader has not went tru. Once i have broken through in my personal life (albeit different areas), the CG broke through!

so my question to you is:

1. What are the areas that you need to break through in order for the people ard you to also experience their very own breakthrough? (esp for the cgcs who are undertaking mem n frns in ur grp)

2. if you have identify the areas needing breakthroughs, how willing are you to exposed this area to the people ard you for them to speak into this area?

ok so that was my 1st real personal breakthrough as a CGL abt a yr ago, until recently i begin to realise that i need another breakthrough one more time! and that is in the area of love. even as a CGL, sometimes it can be quite hard to be loving, esp if you meet ple who are reali "LOST sheep". it takes patience and a BIG heart to contain all the mem n frns in the CG. i realised that my love tank was running low and not being able to minister to the people with real God's love and it seems that ministry turns out to be a routine. i know that is very wrong so i decided to really seek God and ask Him to really come and soften my heart once again to feel what the people are feeling, to go through what that they are gg through, and to share the cries and joy. so my daily prayers i only pray that God can really come and do an enlargement in my heart and fill it with the people He wants to add to me.

Again, not accidentally, the CG began to grow! fr an ave attd of 14 ple for svc, we have a consistent ave svc attd of 20 for the mth of July! Praise the Lord! and with every new frn tht came, it is not just an additional number to me. when i met them up, i would feel the urge to minister to them and just pour out God's love into their lives! i just cant wait to share with them how much God loves them!

i know that this is more than just another coincidence, this is a PATTERN! i know that when i STOP saying abt the things that need to be changed ard me and START to change myself 1st, eventually God will just change the things ard me! God is a true God who honors His word and His word never fails, that is why He always works according to a pattern in our lives!

so another question to you is:

1. Have you observed a certain pattern that God works for your life?

2. Or have u observed a negative pattern that always bring you around and around like a poverty cycle in your life?

Your life is a pattern. it depends on how you want to patterned your life, according to God's or your own. Until you are willing to break out from your own pattern into God's pattern, you will never be able to experience the fullness that God has ordained for you! you will then not live a maximised Christian life and it is even worse to live a lukewarm Christian life cz you think you have it but actually you dun have it!

not onli tat, i realise i gettin more focus in my sch work!and BLSS prayer really growin la...really thanks God for that...gd things is happenin to me le...haha....jus hav to be more focus in ur prayer and quiet time...God will sure listen!!!these might be small,but the blessing and grace means alot to me!!!^^ REALLY!

heyys! iim felicia! hahas. lets talk about how i have been impacted by the C.O.D.E R.E.D CAMP!

ii went to the camp with not much expectancy in the first place. however, the sessions n ministeriing realie blessed me and impacted me. esp. the videos. the first video impacted me the most. astronomical grace. frm the camp. ii realie understood what is worship. ppl used to ask me "Felicia, do ue knw wht is worship?" ii will alwaes ans yes but ii nvr realie understood iit. worship is different frm prayer as worship is about thanking God. about the grace of God. what he have done for us. that is wht ii learnt about thru experience.

hahas. iits testimony time!

Firstly, God saved my mum's nn Grandma's life.if my grandma's wheelchair wasn stuck on the road the other day, both of them would hav already been knock down by a speeding car. thank God for his divine protection. this has not happened only once. iit happened to me before too. something just caught me to stop and look. Praise the Lord for that!!

Secondly, Thank God for wisdom during my O lvl chinese. ii just received news from huiching that ii scored full marks for my section A in paper 2. Prais the Lord!
